With the acquisition of Amazon MGM Studio, the value of Amazon skyrocketed in a single day. The Zee5, Disney + Hot Star are both intimidating. Thus, Netflix intends to deepen its influence in India. For this, it is opening an office in Mumbai for Indian production. It looks like it will be operational next year. Netflix, which has released Aelay and Mandela films in Tamil this year, will soon release the Navarasa Anthology, produced by Mani Ratnam. Talks are also underway for several new projects. OTT sites are now beating like private televisions once competed for the broadcasting rights to movies. This year alone, more than a dozen Tamil films have been released live on OTT.

Arun Prabhu’s new film Vaazhl, directed by Aruvi, is out live on OTT. The film is produced by actor Sivakarthikeyan. Vijay Sethupathi’s Kadaisi Vivasayi and Tughlaq Darbar, who played Vijay Sethupathi in these films. Also, five films starring Vijay Sethupathi as Yathum Ure Yavarum Kelir, Labam, Maamanithan will be releasing live on OTT. Nayantara’s Netrikann, Sivakarthikeyan’s Doctor, Vishnu Vishal’s FIR, Venkatprabhu’s Victim, Arun Vijay’s Border, Trisha’s Ranky, Roar, Hansika’s Maha, GV Prakash’s Aingaran are some of the films lined up for OTT. Many more films like Murungakai Chips, Pannikutty, Rocky, Friendship are in talks.

India has become a hot spot for OTT sites. It is because of the population of India. India has the second-largest population in the world. In the first place, in China, the disadvantages of doing business are high. It does not exist in India. India is predicted to overtake China in population soon. 140 crore people in one place is a hunting ground for any business. OTT sites are no exception. Moreover, with theatres closed due to the Corona disaster, there is no better time than now to develop the business.
