Maalavika Sundar was a contestant on the seventh season of Indian Idol. She is a very talented singer and was born in Chennai. she made her debut with the song Nuvvu Nenu Kalisunte from the movie Gangotri. she was awarded the Nandi Award in 2005 for playback singing. Maalavika was previously known as a Carnatic singer, but soon, she broke the tag after she sang the hit number, Dang Dang under D Imman’s composition in Manam Kothi Paravai.
